Totally Vintage

I created this layout for a challenge. In this challenge, I was supposed to use a picture of my Dad that was greater than 10 years old. I figured if I was going to go back, why not choose the oldest photo that I had. This photo says “vintage layout required.”

I did want to point a few details that non-scrappers may not see or realize.

  • For the background I used the layer mask and brush tools to blend the background together .

  • The hanging lights actually have a blacked out version of them behind that I faded the opacity to give the appearance of some shadowing. The hanging bulbs that you see have a black color overlay applied with the color blending mode.

  • The gears on the right of the photo have a black color overlay with the difference blending mode.

  • The key has a black color overlay with the color blending mode.

  • There’ s a postcard in the middle and underneath the photo that I used brush tools to blend it into the background.

  • The subtle hints of blue seen around the photo color transfer elements that I used brush tools to blend it into the background.

  • The clock/gears on the left of the photo have a black color overlay with normal blending mode.

This layout was chosen by Digital Scrapbooking Studio as the layout of the day!
