Threshold Layer Image

I’ve always enjoyed seeing layouts where the threshold layer was applied. Last night I decided that that was a skill I wanted to acquire. So, I practiced on a selfie that I took. See the layouts below. Same picture used but 2 completely different looks. This the amazing thing about scrapbooking whether it be digital or traditional. The options one has are practically endless. Whether you scrap traditionally or digitally, scrapping is the perfect opportunity to be bold and step outside your comfort zone—and it could help expand your creative thought process!

Both layouts have a lot of layering. I love layering different elements because it helps me to "tweak" the look until it feels or looks right. I absolutely love the "out of box (OOB)" frames as it give my layouts a less structured and more fun and candid look (my opinion only). The photo masks that are used with the frames can be adjusted to control or change the look up a bit. I added to the OOB look by making the necklace OOB as well. This necklace is a chunky but beautiful piece of jewelry and needed a little bit of extra attention.

The layout below, I used elements from the ”Choose Joy” kit by Tiramisu Designs found at Pickle Berry Pop.

For this layout, I used the Wild & Free Kit by Lynn Grieveson for everything except for the frame. The frame is by NBK Design from the Eat Pray Love Collection. Both of these can be found at The LilyPad.
